Our Roots Run Deep

Cardinal Cleaning is honored that you have taken a moment to allow us to share with you the inspiring history behind our company’s founding. It begins in 1980 with Esther E. Perez. Esther was driven by a powerful entrepreneurial spirit that she simply could not ignore. It chipped away at her till she finally took action. Despite the challenges of raising five young children, she took the bold step of leaving her hourly position to establish her own janitorial company in Corpus Christi, Texas.

It was not easy, however by sheer tenacity and perseverance, Esther built the business from the ground up by personally making connections throughout the region. Her industry knowledge built over time and combined with dedication allowed her to grow a significant clientele and a network of professional contacts. Many of whom became lifelong colleagues. Over the decades, she transformed her vision into a well-known and respected brand that fundamentally changed the trajectory of her family.

In 2005, Esther retired.

In 2016, Esther joined the team of a cleaning company that her youngest daughter Lorraine was operating. It was established in 2011 and served Dallas, the greater Houston area, San Antonio and Corpus Christi communities. Esther’s role was to make connections in the Corpus Christi area educating business owners and managers about cleaning services. Esther abruptly passed away in 2022.

In keeping with the entrepreneurial vision of her mother, Cardinal Cleaning was founded by Lorraine (her youngest daughter) to honor her mother’s legacy. The name Cardinal Cleaning matches her vibrant spirit, love for all people, love of life, and joy she had for Cardinal birds. Cardinals are revered because of their bold color, their devotion, strength, and close relationships they form. Which is what we bring to our work every day.

At Cardinal Cleaning, we carry this heritage forward by providing dedicated service and fostering close relationships with our employees and clients. We remain committed to bold thinking and community-focused values.

We are proud to carry forward the legacy of service and excellence that Esther began over forty years ago, and we thank you for your continued support as we honor this legacy through service to you.

To my beautiful mother ~ Lorraine Perez
