The story of Cardinal Cleaning begins long before our name existed. It starts in 1980 with a woman whose determination reshaped the future of her family: Esther E. Perez. Guided by an entrepreneurial spirit she could no longer ignore, Esther made a bold decision that would change everything. While raising five young children, she stepped away from her hourly job and founded her own janitorial company in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Building a business from scratch was far from easy. Esther worked long hours, often late into the night, fueled by grit, faith, and a belief that she could create something better for her family. She grew her company one relationship at a time — shaking hands, earning trust, and proving her reliability through action, not words. Her reputation strengthened, her industry knowledge deepened, and her client base grew into a community of partners and lifelong friends.
Over the decades, Esther transformed her vision into a respected brand that laid the foundation for the legacy we continue today.
A New Chapter Begins
In 2005, Esther retired — but her passion for people and service never faded. In 2016, she came out of retirement to join the cleaning company her youngest daughter, Lorraine, had been operating that served Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and the Corpus Christi community. Her granddaughter (Lorraine’s daughter Iris)came on board too and history continued to write itself.
Esther’s mission during this time was simple and powerful: build relationships and educate business owners about the value of professional cleaning.
She thrived in this role. Her energy was contagious. Her drive, determination, and character left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She reminded people that cleaning is not just a service — it’s a responsibility, a commitment, and a reflection of care.
In 2022, Esther passed away unexpectedly. Her loss was profound, but her legacy remained unshakable.
The Birth of Cardinal Cleaning
To honor her mother’s entrepreneurial spirit, Lorraine founded Cardinal Cleaning. The name carries deep meaning:
