Cardinal Cleaning is honored to share the inspiring story behind our company’s beginnings—a story that starts in 1980 with Esther E. Perez. Guided by a powerful entrepreneurial spirit she could no longer ignore, Esther made a bold decision that would change the course of her family’s future. While raising five young children, she stepped away from her hourly job and founded her own janitorial company in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Building a business from scratch was far from easy, but Esther’s determination never wavered. Through persistence, long hours, and genuine relationship‑building, she grew her company one connection at a time. Her industry knowledge deepened, her reputation strengthened, and her dedication earned her a loyal client base and a network of professional partners—many of whom remained lifelong friends. Over the decades, Esther transformed her vision into a respected brand that laid the foundation for the legacy we continue today.
In 2005, Esther retired.
Esther came out of retirement in 2016 to join the cleaning company her youngest daughter, Lorraine, had been operating which was established in 2011. The company served Dallas, the greater Houston area, San Antonio, and the Corpus Christi community. Esther’s mission was to build relationships in Corpus Christi and educate business owners and managers about the value of professional cleaning services. She thrived in this role—her energy was contagious, and her drive, determination, and character left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Esther passed away unexpectedly in 2022, but her legacy continues to inspire the work we do today.
To honor her mother’s entrepreneurial spirit, Lorraine founded Cardinal Cleaning. The name reflects Esther’s vibrant personality, her love for people, her passion for life, and her fondness for cardinals. Cardinals are admired for their bold color, strength, loyalty, and the close bonds they form—qualities that mirror the values we bring to our work every day.
